Did You Know: Frank Potucek intends to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon after graduating from Johns Hopkins. This Season: Will contend for playing time at the midfield • Fully recovered from two knee injuries that that cost him the 2002 season and limited his effectiveness in 2003. 2003: Saw action in six games as a reserve midfielder • Had three ground balls to his credit. 2002: Suffered through a hard-luck season • Suffered a torn ACL during the fall and battled back to return to the lineup at the end of March • Suffered same injury in first game back against Albany. 2001: Saw time on Hopkins’ defensive midfield unit and in clearing situations • Scored first two career goals in the win over Ohio State • Added his third goal of the season to cap a 4-0 run in the fourth quarter that gave JHU a 12-8 lead in what turned out to be a 13-10 win over Loyola • With the loss of junior P.J. DiConza midway through the year, held down a spot on Hopkins’ defensive midfield unit and finished the season with three goals and two ground balls. At John F. Kennedy: Three-sport standout in football, wrestling and lacrosse • In lacrosse, was a three-time captain, team MVP, and All-County selection, while twice garnering Honorable Mention All-America honors • Also excelled in football, earning Nassau County’s Outstanding Linebacker award as a senior • Set a school record for rushing yards by a freshman with 700.
