PRINCETON, NJ -- Junior midfielder Dan Clark and junior attackman B.J. Prager both scored two goals and freshman Ryan Boyle dished out four assists as second-ranked Princeton knocked off fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins, 8-4 in men's lacrosse action at Class of 1952 Stadium Saturday afternoon. The win is the second straight and fifth in the last six games for the Tigers against Hopkins and spoiled the debut of first-year JHU coach Dave Pietramala.

Clark put the Tigers up for good just 5:52 into the game when he scored off an assist from senior Matt Streibel. The score remained 1-0 into the second quarter, when the Tigers tallied three goals in a span of just over five minutes to go up 4-0 at the half. Will MacColl, Streiber, and Prager all scored during the run for Princeton.

Hopkins finally got on the board with 10:49 remaining in the third quarter when sophomore Bobby Benson scored off an assist from sophomore Adam Doneger. The Tigers then reeled off four straight goals in the final 8:30 of the period to take a commanding 8-1 lead into the final period. Four different players scored for Princeton during the run with Boyle assisting on goals by Prager and Clark.

Hopkins out-shot Princeton, 13-1 in the fourth quarter and scored the period's only three goals. Junior Matt Hanna tallied twice, on assists from Doneger and freshman Joe McDermott and McDermott added the first goal of his career to close the scoring with 6:36 remaining. The two assists for Doneger extend his consecutive multi-point games streak to 11 dating back to last season.

Sophomore Rob Scherr played well in his first start in goal for the Blue Jays. He recorded 12 saves in the game, including several from point-blank range. In addition, senior Eric Wedin won 11-of-15 faceoffs on the day for the Blue Jays, including all 10 in the second half.
