June 30, 2005
It has been one month since the Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team captured its eighth NCAA Championship with thrilling back-to-back 9-8 wins over Virginia and Duke. Head coach Dave Pietramala and assistant coaches Seth Tierney and Bill Dwan have long been back to work recruiting, running camps and preparing for the 2006 season, when Blue Jay fans will surely need to pick up a game program to identify a team that lost 11 players to graduation and welcomes 12 promising newcomers.
Pietramala, who tells his players after every victory not to listen to the people who pat them on the back and tell them how good they are (well, maybe he let that slide on May 30), won't let the 2006 team rest on the laurels of the 2005 team, you can be sure of that. However, it's hard not to look back once in a while at the news clippings or video tapes of the games.
With that in mind we thought you might enjoy a quick audio recap of championship weekend. Below are a three audio files that will quickly take you through the emotions of championship weekend.
