BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team enters the 2005 season where it left off last year in the national poll, ranked 11th by the NSCAA/adidas Division III committee. There was no change in the today's preseason poll from the final poll on November 30, 2004, meaning that defending champion Messiah is the preseason favorite this year.

Last season, the Blue Jays won the Centennial Conference title to earn a berth in the NCAA tournament, and then advanced on penalty kicks past Elizabethtown in the first round. Hopkins was eliminated in the second round by #3 Salisbury, 1-0. The Seagulls advanced to the Final Four before falling to eventual champion Messiah, 1-0. Messiah defeated UC Santa Cruz 4-0 in the championship game.

Johns Hopkins opens its season against USMMA on September 3 at 11 a.m. on Homewood Field.
