Brad Howard enters his second year as assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Johns Hopkins University. He joins the Blue Jays after leading the Carver Center for Arts & Technology co-ed team to a winning season in the spring of 2006. During the two years prior to coaching at Carver, Howard was a teaching professional at Bethesda Country Club for two years.

Before moving to Maryland, Howard coached the boys' and girls' tennis teams at Chapel Hill High School in North Carolina for three years. His boys' team won the North Carolina state title in 1997. During his tenure in North Carolina, Brad also taught at Chapel Hill Tennis Club and North Ridge Country Club. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Wood Valley Swim & Racquet Club in Raleigh, NC.

Howard plays in several men's leagues in the Baltimore area and achieved a men's open Maryland ranking of 17 in 2004.

Howard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with majors in Political Science and Journalism. He also received an M.B.A from Western Carolina University.
