JHU MEN'S TENNIS EDGES MUHLENBERG, 4-3, FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Johns Hopkins University's men's tennis team won its third consecutive match of the season with a 4-3 victory over Centennial Conference foe Muhlenberg on Saturday at the Muhlenberg Tennis Courts. In a rematch of last year's second-place finishers, JHU claimed two doubles matches while the two teams evenly split the singles 3-3 to give the Blue Jays the win. Hopkins improves to 5-3 on the year and 2-0 in CC competition.

Four of the six singles matches went to three-sets with JHU's #4 Dan Kreeger (Sr., Miami Beach, FL/Ransom Everglades) and No. 6 Ashish Lall (Jr., Buffalo, NY/Nichols) claiming victories. Kreeger lost the first set, 4-6, but bounced back to claim the next two, 6-3, 7-5. Lall also fell in the first but won the next two, 5-7, 6-1, 6-0. Senior Andrew Chu (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) at No. 3 wasted no time with a 6-1, 6-4 win.

In doubles action, Chu and Kreeger won 8-5 at No. 2, while juniors Sion Roy (Chandler, AZ/Brophy College Prep) and Erhan Bedestani (Hamilton, NJ/Lawrenceville Prep) also claimed an 8-3 win at #3.

The Blue Jays take a week off for Spring Break before returning to action on Tuesday, March 27, when the team hosts Dickinson at 3:00 p.m. in a Centennial contest.
