BALTIMORE, MD - Four members of the Johns Hopkins men's tennis team earned All-Centennial Conference honors as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Senior Joe Vasoontara (Bangkok, Thailand/Loomis Chaffee) becomes just the third player in conference history to earn first team all-conference honors four times. Sophomore David Maldow (Jericho, NY/Jericho) and freshmen Casey Blythe (Louisville, KY/Saint Xavier) and Andrew Wang (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) also earned all-conference honors.

Vasoontara earned first team honors for singles and doubles, bringing his career total to eight all-conference honors. He holds the Johns Hopkins career record for doubles wins (59) and total wins (106). He became the first player in program history (male or female) with 100 career wins on April 15. Vasoontara ranks second behind fellow senior Rafael Roberti (Summit, NJ/Summit) with 47 career singles wins.

Maldow also earned first team honors for both singles and doubles. He was a first team honoree for singles in 2007. A 2007 All-American, he boasts a 23-3 singles record this season and is currently the #1 ranked singles player in the Atlantic South region. Maldow already ranks in the top-five in school history in career singles wins (42) and in the top-10 in career doubles wins (33) and total wins (74).

Blythe and Wang earned first team honors in doubles in 2008. Blythe and Vasoontara are currently ranked third in the Atlantic South and are 18-6 entering the NCAA Tournament this weekend at TCNJ. Wang and Maldow are ranked 13th in the region with an 18-4 record. The pair has won 10 straight entering this weekend's action.

Under fourth-year head coach Chuck Willenborg, four players have combined to earn First Team All-Centennial Singles honors eight times. In addition, six players have combined for 10 First-Team All-Centennial Doubles honors.
