COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team competed at the University of Maryland Invitational on Saturday in College Park. There was no team scoring in the event.

The Blue Jays were led by junior Peter Li who finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 13.94m. Freshman Ryan Lino was just behind Li finishing seventh with a throw of 13.45m.Junior Matt Trachtenburg was sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 4.30m.

Hopkins' distance medley team finished sixth in its event with a time of 10:57.77. The team was composed of senior Jason Hortiatis, sophomore James Walker, sophomore Nate Sotuyo and senior James Bronson. Senior Patrick Brandon finished 20th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:20.23. Sotuyo was 13th in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in 2:01.76.

Seniors Chris Cottrell and Tristan Thomas finished 12th and 14th respectively in the 200 meter dash. Cottrell crossed the line in 23:68 while Thomas clocked in at 23:70.

Hopkins will return to the track on January 26th at the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason University.
