Hopkins Competes at Haverford Keogh Invitational

HAVERFORD, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team competed at the Haverford Keogh Invitational on Friday in its final regular season action of the year. Adam Waddell won the pole vault to lead the Blue Jays.
Waddell captured the pole vault with a final vault of 4.42m. He also competed in the triple jump, finishing fourth with a jump of 11.90m. Teammate Matt Trachtenberg took second in the pole vault with a final leap of 4.27m. Trachtenberg also finished second in the high jump with a final jump of 1.73m. Chris Cottrell was third in the long jump, at 6.08m in the finals.
Cottrell continued his solid showing in the meet in the track events. He took third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.74. Cottrell was also fifth in the 200-meter dash, completing the race in 23.61.
Brahma Kumar finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.90. Brandon Hahn took 12th place in the 800-meter run, completing the course in 2:03.69. The 4x400 relay team finished in 3:32.36 to finish second in their event. The 4x400 relay team was composed of Cornelius Queen, Hahn, Kumar and Gordon Mack. Mack also captured the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.49 on Friday.
Hopkins will return to the track on March 1 at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ursinus.
