GETTYSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team is in second place after day two of the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Haverford is in first place having 69 points after two days of action while the Blue Jays currently sit in second place with 57 points. Host Gettysburg rounds out the top three with 55 points.

The Blue Jays were led by Peter Li who placed second in the discus throw with a toss of 45.96m in the finals. Also in the field events, Chris Cottrell took fourth in the long jump after posting a 6.45m. Teammate Adam Waddell was sixth in the long jump as he recorded a 6.31m.

The 4x800 relay team of James Bronson, Elliott Wehner, Nate Sotuyo and Graham Belton captured the silver medal in their event as they posted a time of 8:04.01. Devin McDermott continued his strong performance in the decathlon as that event wrapped up. McDermott placed third in the javelin throw and fourth in the discus throw.

The Blue Jays will return to action on Sunday, May 4 as the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships conclude with day three's action. The first event is scheduled to get under way at 11 a.m.
