ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Johns Hopkins wrestling team fell 26-12 at Elizabethtown on Tuesday night in a dual meet. Hopkins picked up wins in four different weight classes but falls to 0-1 on the season. Elizabethtown improves to 1-0 on the season with the win.

Elizabethtown picked up victories at 125 and 133 by a pin to open up a 12-0 lead in the match. Hopkins picked up its first points of the night in the 141 weight class. Marco Priolo (Chevy Chase, MD/St. Johns College H.S.) posted a 9-2 win over Drew Winegar to make the score 12-3. Elizabethtown picked up a tech fall win at 149 to go ahead 17-3 in the contest.

Jim Crumlish (Blue Bell, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy) picked up a 10-3 victory over Mike Lussier in the 157 weight class to make it 17-6 before Keith Salters got by Pete Kavanagh (Valhalla, NY/Fordham Prep) 5-4 at 165 to make the score of the match 20-6. Hopkins closed the gap in the match as it was able to post back to back wins at 174 and 184. At the 174 weight class, David Kraus (Potomac, MD/Churchill) picked up a 2-1 win over Brett Epps before Eric Fishel (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills) notched a 4-2 decision over Josh Herbert at 184.

Up 20-12 at that point, Elizabethtown posted an 8-4 decision at 197 and a 7-2 victory in the heavyweight class to claim the match.

Hopkins returns to action next on Saturday when the Blue Jays take part in the Red Dragon Invitational at Oneonta. The grapplers will take to the mat with action set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
