BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's crew team hosted the JHU Invitational this past weekend. The women's varsity four finished fourth in the petite final, while the women's novice four finished third in the final. Next up for the Blue Jays is the Knecht Cup in Camden, NJ April 12-13.
The varsity four finished third in its heat with a time of 7:36.55 and then finished fourth in the petite final with a time of 7:58.33. In the boat were freshmen Beth Simmons (Arlington, VA/Yorktown) and Pia Heilmann (Coppell, TX/Phillips Academy Andover (MA)), senior Clare Blubaugh (Hickory, NC/St. Catherine's School (VA)), juniors Katie Blumer (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater Area) and Rebecca Williamson (Burlington, Ontario/Hillfield Strathallan).
The novice four finished third in its final with a time of 8:31.90. In the boat for JHU were freshman Carolyn Pearce (Honolulu, HI/Mid-Pacific Institute), sophomore Nicole Pangborn (Johnston, RI/Mt. St. Charles Academy), freshmen Lauren Thompson (Baltimore, MD/Towson), Alexis Roy (Forked River, NJ/Lanoka Harbor) and Sam Ruff (Croton, NY/Hendrick Hudson).
