BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team is ranked 15th in Division III in the Fila/ITA Fall poll. The Blue Jays are also ranked fifth in the Atlantic South region. Earning regional rankings are junior Brittany Matava (Denver, CO/Littleton), sophomores Anita Bhamidipati (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township High School) and Ellen Berlinghof (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin), freshman Yasmine Elamir (Saddle River, NJ/Heritage Academy (SC)).

Bhamidipati is ranked ninth in the region after posting a 6-1 record this fall. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Southeast Regionals for the second consecutive season. She won 21 straight matches, dating back to last season, before falling in the quarterfinals. She now has a career singles record of 27-4. Matava, ranked 22nd in the region, is 7-3 through the fall and won the singles title at the inaugural Centennial Conference Fall Invitational. She is now 42-17 in singles in her career and is just seven wins shy of tying the program record for singles wins.

Elamir earned a ranking of 32nd after posting a 3-1 and advancing to the round of 16 at the ITA Southeast Regionals. Elamir and Berlinghof are ranked sixth in the region for doubles. The pair went 4-1 this fall and advanced to the semifinals at regionals. Bhamidipati and Matava are ranked 10th in the region for doubles with a 2-1 record.

Hopkins resumes its schedule on March 13 as the Blue Jays begin its Centennial Conference title defense. Hopkins will visit Gettysburg.
