Hopkins Competes at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's track and field competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday in its final tune-up for the Centennial Conference Championship. Jessica Reeves led the Blue Jays with a strong showing in the field events.
Reeves took third in the pole vault with a personal best of 3.05m. She also was ninth in the high jump at 1.55m and 15th in the long jump at 4.85m. Teammate Becky Lossing took seventh in the high jump, recording a 1.55m. Chantel Priolo was seventh in the discus throw with a toss of 33.57m and third in the javelin, where she recorded a 36.42m.
Jordan Ireton claimed eighth place in the 100-meter dash as she recorded a 12.98 in the finals. Kit Harris placed 10th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.77. The Blue Jays had two top ten finishers in the 1,500-meter run. Rachel Hogen was fourth with a time of 4:48.23 while Laura Paulsen placed sixth with a time of 4:52.02.
Angela Kaon took ninth place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:40.30. Elizabeth Laseter was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 13:30.39.
The Hopkins women return to the track on Friday, May 2 as the Centennial Conference Championship gets under way. This year's championship is hosted by Gettysburg.
