NEW ORLEANS, LA - Three runners from the Johns Hopkins women's cross-country team earned All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association for their performances at the Mideast Regional Championship last weekend. Sophomore Laura Paulsen (Lutherville, MD/Bryn Mawr) earned all-region honors for the second straight year while junior Rachel Hogen (Tarzana, CA/Harvard Westlake) and sophomore Mira Patel (Moraga, CA/Campolindo) were first time honorees. In addition freshman Megan Brower (Cary, NC/Green Hope) earned second team freshman all-region honors.

Paulsen led the Blue Jays to a third place finish at the regional meet last weekend as she placed fourth with a time of 21:48. Hogen also earned a top 20 finish at the regional as she crossed the line in 22:35 to place 18th. Patel finished 34th at the meet with a time of 22:58.

Brower was among the top 14 freshmen at the regional as she placed 49th overall with a time of 23:23.

The Blue Jays will compete on Saturday, November 17 at the NCAA Championship. Hopkins earned its first ever team bid to the championship with its third place finish at the regional.
